Under the banner of a new name, a challenger positioning, outspoken voice and candid visual identity, Opella has unleashed their rebellious spirit to make self-care simple, as it should be.

CURING THE COMMON COLD SHOULDER.

Sanofi’s Consumer Healthcare division were sick. Sick of people getting sick, and sick of healthcare so confusing that customers didn’t know where to start. The way they saw it – self-care was too complex, and they were the remedy.


We worked with the team from the very beginning, putting forward a case to separate consumer healthcare from the wider Sanofi group. In freeing them up to flourish away from heavy regulation of a classic pharma mindset, Opella was born.

We crafted every element of Opella’s identity – from name to launch, and beyond.
The strategy at the heart of the new brand? Simplicity. Challenging and rebelling against an industry that had become too comfortable with the status quo, by making self-care easier to understand and easier to use – to help people help themselves.

Now, they’re the self-care rebels with a brand that helps them achieve their mission to become the best Fast Moving Consumer Health company in – and for – the world. Changing the game, one symptom at a time.

Simplicity is often spoken about, rarely executed well. We built Opella from the ground up, simplifying health across all brand foundations (naming, strategy), brand identity (visual, verbal, motion, and sonic), and brand application (messaging, training, guidelines, templates, website, events, offices, and communications).

Now, strikingly simple design, a bold brand voice, bespoke type and a ban on all lifestyle imagery and perfection-washing all work together to ensure Opella stands out as true rebels in their category. A refreshingly straightforward brand for a refreshingly straightforward mindset. No ifs, no buts, no bullshit.

Our work for Opella has also delivered on its first major objective: Attracting a sizeable Private Equity deal. With the separation from Sanofi now complete, Opella is continuing its mission to simplify self-care for all.
