Huawei, the global tech powerhouse, is creating a more connected and intelligent world. To manifest this vision, they needed to reinvent their bond with customers. Our canvas? Shanghai’s new flagship store. How? Nature itself, reflecting customers' desire for deeper connections, mirroring the £2.8 trillion global wellness movement (Global Wellness Institute). We crafted an experience concept where technology and nature intertwine, guiding customers towards new ways of living a more connected life.

THE STORY

FOSTERING THE FOREST
For their first global flagship store, Huawei set us a mission: to bring to life their vision of a fully connected, intelligent world. Nestled in a district renowned for its focus on wellness and sustainability, the store needed to resonate with people’s desire for wellness and need to connect both with nature and people. These connections are exactly what Huawei’s ecosystem of products and services can foster and enhance.


PLANTING THE SEED
We envisioned the store as a ‘Forest of Living Harmony’, an interactive space embodying the intelligence of nature. The customer journey is represented as a seed that sprouts and flourishes, symbolising the customers’ potential as they delve into Huawei’s ecosystem.
        As people navigate through the store, discovering Huawei’s innovative products and exploring new experiences, their virtual seed grows, nurtured by the knowledge they gain. Just like a seed transforming into a tree, customers grow their understanding of how Huawei’s technology can enhance their lives.


BUILT BY NATURE
Our architectural design concepts provide an oasis amidst the urban hustle, enticing customers into a sun-drenched haven. The soft, curved features of the building’s façade continue inside, crafting a tranquil and awe-inspiring physical environment.
        At the heart of the store stands the Tree of Harmony, a community hub fostering unique bonds between humans, nature and technology. From there, customers embark on a journey of discovery, exploring digitally enabled products and lifestyles in an environment that’s distinctively inspired by Huawei and nature.


IMAGINING MORE IN-STORE
In the nature-led experience we conceptualised, interactive touchpoints mimic the sun’s movement, illuminating the space with natural light. Over 60 species of native plants and local flora are dynamically woven into interactive content, further enriching customers’ connection with their local community. These digital plants adapt to environmental data and even change colour in response to consumers’ attire, creating an unrivalled in-store experience, firmly rooting Huawei as a partner that helps customers achieve deeper connections with life and nature.


NEW ROOTS
Rooted in the heart of Taikoo Li Qiantan retail district, our ground-breaking store concept sets a new standard, redefining the connections Huawei’s forging. Standing as a landmark in Shanghai, it serves as an embodiment of Huawei’s brand vision. Its dynamic presence nurtures the brand’s relentless growth, promising a flourishing future.
