Senior strategist

Position Purpose

Senior Strategists at Landor are the force that pushes projects forward and the glue that holds everything together. They own projects and assume leadership roles to mentor junior members, influence senior-level thinking, and move clients to action. Senior Strategists make a difference by taking on responsibilities, leading projects with multidisciplinary teams, delivering extraordinary client work, and growing client accounts. Duties and Responsibilities

Landor Fundamentals

  • Partner with others to create thought leadership, frameworks, and processes
  • Mentor junior employees around business, branding, strategy, and research
  • Lead recruiting efforts (e.g., identifying, interviewing, and selecting candidates)
  • Participate in multiple internal initiatives to help build our culture in support of our brand
  • Be a role model for others in terms of energy, optimism, and drive for results


People and Team

  • Understands team interaction and roles of team members
  • Performs well in a team environment
  • Participates in workshops and other sessions to grow expertise in Experience Maps, Opportunity Mapping, and other tools to identify business opportunities and solve clients’ business challenges. Ensures direct reports, as applicable, are exposed to these tools
  • Fosters communication and cohesion between internal teams and functions
  • Provides mentoring and on-the-job training for junior level talent. Responsible for individual performance management of direct reports, including performance appraisals and interim reviews
  • Responsible for motivating project teams


Client Relationships

  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to lead research design, execution, and analysis
  • Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of client’s business and industry
  • Own the development of the client strategic deliverable by developing hypotheses, conducting analyses, and managing others
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to identify client needs, articulate the story, develop recommendations, and present to clients to gain buy-in
  • Manage, together with Client Services lead, projects’ development and profitability
  • Lead the writing and development of highest quality end products such as integrated client presentations


New Business Development

  • Partner with others to map out and pursue opportunities to grow current client relationships
  • Lead development of POV for pitches and outbound new business efforts


Project/Financial Management

  • Partners with cross-function team members to ensure schedules and budgets are met.
  • Proactively and quickly escalates challenges or hurdles to that success.
  • Pays close attention to and is responsible for realization and utilization for his/her team and projects
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to targets, budget allocations, and profitability.
  • Supports Finance Team on finance reporting, invoicing and debt collection. Prepares documents for budget meetings.
  • Recommends course of action if client revenue targets are moving off target

 Required Experience

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in branding, consulting, or marketing
  • MBA from top-ranked program preferred
  • Strong experience in designing, conducting, and analysing secondary and/or primary research
  • Extraordinary extracurricular activities that demonstrate passion, creativity, and resourcefulness
  • Passionate about being culturally connected and on the leading edge of brands, marketing, and design
