LONDON (27 July 2016) — Leading global strategic brand consulting and design firm Landor has appointed Andrew Welch as the new managing director for its London office as part of a strategic move to reinforce and enhance Landor’s growth in the EMEA region.
Welch previously worked at Landor as executive director for EMEA before his appointment as CEO of Y&R South Africa in May 2011.
During his tenure at Y&R, Welch worked to transform the traditional advertising network into a media-agnostic creative consultancy able to advise across communications channels.
Welch turned Y&R from a company that was judged solely on its advertising creativity into a business evaluated on the effectiveness of its work, measured through client sales and profits.
Last year, Y&R South Africa was rated one of the top four brand and communications agencies in the Loeries® Official Rankings™, a ranking of annual performance of the brand communications industry throughout Africa and the Middle East. Y&R South Africa was also awarded a top three placement in the Creative Circle of South Africa 2015 rankings.
