Landor launches innovative socially responsive branding for WPL’s Women Leaders Global Forum

Four hundred of the most powerful women in the world gathered for the launch of the Women Leaders Global Forum (WLGF) on November 27. Powered by Women Political Leaders (WPL) and the government of Iceland, the forum parallels the world’s largest summits with one key difference: it is led by women.

To mark this milestone occasion, WPL partnered with global brand consultancy Landor, pioneering a new form of branding that is both socially responsive and responsible.

Using new technology and progressive design, Landor created “The Pulse”—a living brand that tracks, translates, and visualizes the conversation around women in leadership, in real time. The Pulse exemplifies a socially responsive and responsible brand asset as one that informs as well as engages its audience.

“We’re incredibly proud to have been a part of this initiative. We’ve been able to use technology and design in service of an issue that we care deeply about: female leadership,” commented Jane Geraghty, global CEO of Landor.

She continued: “The Pulse design system—fueled by real conversations, powered by cutting-edge technology, and using innovative design techniques—has power beyond simply branding. The live nature of the asset demonstrates WPL’s commitment to openness and transparency around the subject, giving us all a real chance to drive positive change. We’re enormously proud to have partnered with such an incredible group of powerful women to make today’s work real.”

The aim of the Pulse is to be a catalyst for action: to listen, learn, and respond to the global conversation surrounding women in leadership and to serve as a visual reminder of women’s progress.

“We believe that socially responsive design is the future. Using brand as an instrument to drive change and decision-making in real time, using data and technology, as well as open design thinking, is a huge opportunity for responsible organizations moving forward. And we are just at the beginning of this journey. We can’t wait to share what is coming next,” said Hsu-Ying Fullick, Landor’s executive creative director.
