Landor Cincinnati. Brandemonium. Inject Hope.

The heroin epidemic is killing one American every 16 minutes, and it’s shattering the fabric of our community on an unprecedented scale. And yet, many people still underestimate the problem, don’t connect with those struggling with addiction, and don’t see them as human beings.

In creating the Inject Hope brand for Hamilton County, we strove to challenge perceptions of the issue in a disruptive and compelling way.

Inject Hope

At this year’s Brandemonium conference, we’re seeking to shamelessly exploit the world’s most creative minds to help combat the opioid epidemic. Landor’s panels bring marketing and branding experts alongside those on the front lines who are fighting the heroin epidemic every single day. Together at this event we’ll develop ideas about how to bring awareness to Casey’s Law —a law that allows parents, family, and friends to request involuntary, court-ordered addiction treatment for their loved one struggling with addiction. Following Brandemonium, Landor is committed to bringing the top ideas to life.

Panel and event information

Day 1: Thursday, 12 October 2017 from 2:00-2:45 pm

Inject Hope into the Heroin Epidemic: Setting the stage for change

We will start by putting the crisis in context, sharing facts, figures, and personal accounts. We will inspire the audience, teaching them how to challenge their own perceptions so they can see problems in a new light and solve them with innovative solutions. We’ll also discuss the campaign work developed to date and challenge the audience to add their ideas and solutions to the issues.

Day 1: Thursday, 12 October 2017 from 5:00-7:30 pm
At Rusconi’s (adjacent to Duke Energy Center)

Hope Hour

During our Thursday evening Hope Hour, we will be soliciting ideas in exchange for free drinks and appetizers at this free happy hour event that is open to the public. Specifically, we’ll be brainstorming ways to bring awareness to Casey’s Law—a law that allows parents, family, and friends to request involuntary, court-ordered addiction treatment for their loved one struggling with addiction.

We just need you to show up, share an idea or two, and enjoy some great company! Please feel free to invite anyone (and everyone) who might enjoy this collaborative opportunity.

Day 2: Friday, 13 October 2017 from 2:00-2:45 pm

Think “inside-the-box”: Using systematic approaches to solve the heroin epidemic

The traditional attitude toward creativity is to “think outside the box”—to brainstorm without restraint in hopes of coming up with a breakthrough idea, often in moments of crisis. Sometimes it works, but it’s a problem-specific solution that does nothing to engender creative thinking. Drew Boyd will share inside-the-box systematic approaches designed to elicit ideas from panelists and the audience on ways to solve the heroin epidemic. We’ll focus on generating ideas that can raise awareness for Casey’s Law.

Day 3: Saturday, 14 October 2017 from 9:20-10:00 am

Inject Hope: Elevating and activating the best ideas from Brandemonium

Throughout the Brandemonium experience, Landor will be collecting your ideas on ways to combat the heroin epidemic; specifically looking for ways to raise awareness for Casey’s Law. In this session, our panelists will share the best of the best ideas collected throughout the event, discuss the merits of each, and align on the top three conceptual ideas to share with the Heroin Task Force, which will work on activating them.
