Hayes Roth is responsible for
directing all marketing and new business development efforts for
Landor Associates worldwide, as well as serving as senior manager
on major global branding projects.
With over 30 years of broad-based marketing communications
experience and a pragmatic approach to strategic business
transformation, Hayes has led rebranding programs for such
organizations as Cleveland Clinic, Columbia University, ITT, the
New York Stock Exchange, Panasonic, Royal Caribbean International,
Ryder, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Most recently, he has
directed strategic branding efforts for Bradesco, Citi, Council on
Foreign Relations, General Mills, Hartford HealthCare, PGA of
America, and the United Negro College Fund, and World Trade Center
(on behalf of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey).
Prior to joining Landor in 1995, Hayes was founder and principal of
his own multidisciplined marketing services company, Roth Marketing
Communications Inc., where his clients included the Perrier Group,
Price Waterhouse LLP, Prudential Securities, and T. Rowe
Price.
Before starting his own organization in 1987, Hayes was VP and
management supervisor at Saatchi & Saatchi, responsible for
several Procter & Gamble brands. He also served as VP and
account supervisor at Young & Rubicam. There, he managed
multiple assignments ranging from strategic brand repositioning for
Jell-O to integrated public relations, direct marketing, and
advertising efforts for Merrill Lynch. Earlier career experiences
include the national introduction of General Mills’ Nature Valley
Granola Bars while at Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis.
Hayes is a frequent lecturer at leading business schools including
Cornell, Columbia, City University of New York, and the University
of Miami. He has also lectured at marketing conferences around the
world, including the Economist’s marketing forums in New York,
Shanghai, and Dubai. As a spokesperson for Landor, Hayes regularly
provides expert commentary on a range of industry-related subjects
for major TV networks as well as the Wall Street Journal,
the New York Times, Businessweek,
AdWeek, and related professional publications.
He holds a BA from the University of Miami and is a member of the
College of Charleston Department of Communications Advisory
Council, the Cornell Johnson School Executive Advisory Committee,
and is on the Board of Directors of the Advertising Educational
Foundation
